The idea for this site came about last month during the meltdown of a certain Booktuber whose extremely unlikeable and fallacy ridden video spawned the #DiverseAThon hashtag on Twitter, among many other things, including this prevailing notion that marginalized groups only ever "complain" about a lack of representation, but don't actually do anything to improve their standing in media, which is not true. There are just as many, if not more, female creatives of color, LGBT+ creatives, etc., who are doing and have been doing amazing work, but rarely, if ever, are acknowledged by the overwhelmingly white media that would have the rest of us believing that people that are like us don't create. So, to combat this ridiculousness, I've decided to create something of a catalog of books and websites and such created for and run by people in the margin so as to make it easier for those who are looking for stories that they can resonate with or those simply looking to expand their worldview. I've been doing really well so far and I hope to have the website be live by at least November 1, so keep an eye out for a link here!!!
So, What About the Other Posts???
Oh, yeah. So, November is going to be my catch-up "month", where I slog through the back log of posts that should've been published or haven't yet been written (most are recaps) and get them out to you guys and get myself up to speed so that I can resume consistently posting in December after The Cannon goes live.
So that is all that I have for you this time, keep and eye out for The Literary Cannon in the first week of November, and as always have a fantastic day!!! BYE!!!
